Alan Weaver - serving with Entrust

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2

Our Vision

To see multiplying leaders for multiplying churches.

Our Mission

To multiply church leaders through accessible, locally owned, reproducible training systems.

Contribution:

Dr. Alan Weaver has two major passions: 1) the growing numbers of pastors in poor and non-Christian countries who have no opportunity for either training or support and 2) the need for pastors to understand and release the power of God’s people whom they shepherd. In most of the world, pastors do all the ministry themselves and don’t understand their role in building their people up so that they are released to impact their churches and communities for Christ.

Alan is one of the vice-presidents providing leadership to the Entrust organization. Among his  responsibilities are liaison between Entrust and its African sister organization, More Than a Mile Deep (MMD), training systems development, and counsel to the Entrust president.  Alan has worked at the International School of Leadership with Campus Crusade, written a course on mentoring for use with pastors in Africa, consults in areas of culture and leadership, and works with doctor of missiology students at Fuller’s School of Intercultural Studies.  He travels extensively.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for the Tanzanian leaders that Mike, a Fuller doctoral student, will train as they try to train up a new generation of servant leaders and re-insert a philosophy of encouragement and equipping that is attractive to new young leaders.  Pray they will find the JOY in ministry again.
  • Please pray for me and Abhijit Nayak, a Fuller student from India, as we make arrangements for our trip in March.
  • Please pray faithfully, even consider a day of fasting to pray that God will direct our (Alan and Abhijit) paths and make this a turning point for the training of leaders in West Bengal.
  • Pray for the meetings with Indian leaders that we meet with on the trip. Pray that we all can have a clearer understanding of what we need to do and what the next steps are.
  • Pray for our plans for the Fall. We have several things to do including pastors’ conferences to attract interest and maintain momentum, trial small groups to test materials and begin training leaders, cultural research, and continuing to dialogue with local leaders.
  • Pray for key personnel that we would need—Indian writers, pastors and others to join us on the Fall trips, a couple of key Indian champions that will push things on the ground and keep it moving, etc.
  • As always, continue to pray for my own walk with the Lord and protection from the evil one.
