In Times of Turmoil: Put your confidence in God

by Brenda Kuseski

For a Christian, a life that is not “ordinary” means that we live out our days in close relationship with the God of the universe.  Then, His love, grace and supernatural provision become the norm—nothing can be humdrum when His Spirit is leading, teaching, and empowering us.  But we often forget that we have this privilege.   When you are uncertain, anxious, discouraged, or fearful, lift your eyes up, beyond the routine of your daily life, and pray these declarations about the God who is keeping you in His care.  These are His own words!

 1. God is sovereign; all authority and all power are His.  (Mt. 28:18)

2. Nothing takes Him by surprise.  All circumstances are His servants.  He knows the end from the beginning.  (Ps. 119:91; Is. 46:9-10)

3. His word is forever settled in Heaven, and He never goes back on a promise. (Ps. 119:9; Josh. 21:45)

4. There is no circumstance, person, place, or time that the blood of Jesus does not cover.  The one who did not spare His own Son will freely give us all that is best for us.  (Rom. 8:31-32)

5. He works through all things for our good and for His glory; His intention is to conform us to the likeness of Jesus.  (Rom. 8:28-29)

6. God is for us and nothing can separate us from His love.  That was settled on the Cross.  (Rom. 8:35-39)

7. His loving kindness never ceases and His compassion never fails.  His mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness is great.  (Lam. 3:22-23)

8. He supplies all our needs by His riches in Christ Jesus.  (Phil. 4:19)

9. He knows and cares about you.  The very hairs of your head are numbered (Matt. 10:30)

10. Among His names are “God of all Comfort” and “the Father of Mercies.”  (2 Cor. 1:3-4)
