Bob and Jane Serving in Ethiopia

About Our Mission

Over two million people in Ethiopia are infected with HIV.  The Ethiopian Church (6 million members) has a program that provides practical and spiritual care in its HIV/AIDS ministry. In partnership with Serving In Mission, the local churches are trained to respond to HIV/AIDS in their community by caring for the sick, the orphans, and providing education. This high impact, low cost program is also an effective gospel outreach.

Current Status

Bob has assumed the role of the Hope for Aids Program Administrator. Currently, we are looking to expand this program at the request of the Ethiopian Church. Jane is temporarily filling in for the field personnel director who is on home assignment.

How You Can Pray for Us:

Praises:

  •  Matt going to LeTourneau U.; Kent and Amy working in Longview next year
  • Bob’s health restored (thanks for praying)
  • Seeing the gospel transforming lives and communities among our teams.

Requests:

  •  An evangelist for Tuffa (some progress—we have a name now, keep praying!)
  • For wisdom as we fill in for field director and personnel director over the summer.
  • For our continued dependency on God in all we are and do.
