About our mission
Our main goal is that business people in the Munich area would be reached for Jesus and become His growing disciples. In addition, we want to help people overcome hindrances to their growth as reflected in Elizabeth’s work with Open Hearts Ministry (befreit leben).
In 2008 I was elected to the leadership committee (Elder Board) of our local church in Munich. Our first major agenda items were the decision to buy the building we have been renting, our church's participation in the ProChrist 2009 evangelistic campaign, and preparing for a Munich-wide evangelistic campaign in 2012.
Both Elizabeth and I are serving as International Representatives for Campus Crusade for Christ and report to its German office in Giessen, but most of our ministry to business and professional people is through an indigenous organization, the International Association of Christian Business People (IVCG), which was founded in Switzerland about 60 years ago.
Why we're here
During my last year at seminary I contacted about a dozen mission organizations which offered some combination of vocation and ministry. At that time Campus Crusade for Christ was looking for people with a business background who could travel frequently and reliably behind the Iron Curtain to do ministry. This matched my desire to serve as well as my business background, as before going to seminary I had been working for 12 years in sales and marketing of scientific instruments and computers.
How you can pray for us
- Praise God for the very encouraging nine-day German “befreit leben” (Open Hearts Ministry) training seminar in March with over 70 participants
- Praise God for the medical doctor/radiologist who gave a moving talk on “Life after a (positive) Diagnosis” at the IVCG outreach dinner meeting on 31 March
- Pray for the IVCG outreach dinner meeting on 11 May: “Life in the Internet: How Facebook is changing our lives”
- Please pray for strong motivation for members of the twelve cooperating Munich churches to invite friends to the ProChrist evangelistic meetings 6-16 May
- Please pray that the man in the film industry who has been attending the men’s Bible study would seek a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Please pray that the 2010 return we filed in February would be accepted by the German tax authorities and would not lead to additional taxes
