Kids Hope USA Mentoring - Van Buren Elementary School

Faith Church has a passion to be Christ's hands and feet in the local schools.  Partnering with Kids Hope USA we've adopted Van Buren Elementary School through which we serve at-risk children.  Every week during the school year 20 volunteers meet the emotional, social, and academic needs of at-risk children with one-to-one, Jesus-with-skin-on relationships.

On Wednesday, March 7 eighteen of the twenty Faith Church Kids Hope mentors walked the twenty children across the street from the school to McDonalds. Together the children and mentors ate together. The children were excited and very loud but very well behaved. After they ate their happy meals the kids played in the McDonalds play area until it was time to return to their classes. One child as he climbed off the play equipment happily stated, “I’m worn out.” I think all eighteen mentors were also worn out.
