Matt Farrell - YWAM Lakeside Montana

“No one can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24

About my mission

I have returned to the YWAM base in Montana after being in Kona staffing a Community Development school, at a masters level.  I am again in charge of the housekeeping department for the campus overseeing 25 students.  I will be co-leading the next community development track.  We will hopefully cover topics such as: gardening, first-aid, water filtration, basic mechanics, relief versus development, etc.

I am also working on a website for the community development committee globally (for school leaders). This website is designed to provide resources for the school leaders on various topics and information.

Not only am I involved with the previous things, I am also preparing for the next community development school; which will run in the spring.

Why I’m here . . .

Since a very young age God has placed missions in my heart.  Throughout my life God has been preparing me for what I am doing now, and He is still preparing me for what is to come.  For the past 5 years, I have been working with the Foundations in Community Development department with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Idaho.  I have been able to work in certain places in Africa, Central America as well as Asia.  I have spent more of my time in Asia.  Something that really attracted me to missions was the different cultures, and really seeing how we as believers can preach the Kingdom of God, as well as truly, disciple nations.

How you can pray for me:

  • For continued health more specifically my hearing.... it is not where it should be
  • For finances for my upcoming trip... I am looking at around $4,000 (that includes air-fare, ground fees, etc.)- I am going to the middle east.
  • Also for direction, as to if I am supposed to stay in the middle east after outreach and work with the next FCD there. If I do staff there, I will be there for about 6 months or so.
  • For wisdom as to what exactly I need to do, to be gone for 6-7 months
