Mobile Home Park Ministry

Faith Church has had a presence serving in the massive mobile home park on 57th Street for the past several years. Because of Laney Howard’s vision that presence, and Faith Church’s impact on this community, will increase. Laney who works at Cottonwood Plains Elementary School has led an afterschool ministry at the mobile home park for the many children from that community. The after school program is called Panther Club (after the Cottonwood Plains School mascot) and helps students develop writing skills. Several volunteers from Faith Church assist Laney in this outreach.

To enhance the Panther Club ministry, and to increase the opportunities to serve the  mobile home community, Faith Church has purchased a mobile home in the park that will be retrofitted to not only host Panther Club but possibly also English Language classes, Bible studies, and homework help ministries.

The church elders approved this out-of-the-box ministry because it realizes that to minister like Jesus you must not sit back hoping non-churched people will darken the doors of our building but rather you must go to the people.
