To glorify God
Colossians 1:15-16, "[Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him."
The physical creation and every individual on earth finds their reason for existence in Jesus Christ. We are not our own, we were bought with a price, so we seek to glorify God in our bodies. As believers in Christ, we band together in a body known as Faith Evangelical Church so that we may glorify Him more effectively and more widely.
To be balanced and growing in the Three Priorities:
Mark 12:30, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Because He is our Creator, Sustainer, and Savior, He deserves our highest allegiance and devotion. He is the Number One Priority in our lives, determining everything we do, including our jobs, our relationships, our finances, our entertainment, etc.
Love The Family
John 13:34-35, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Starting with our own nuclear family, and then extending to the church family and the larger Body of Christ, our relationships are to be so characterized by Christ's unconditional, self-sacrificing love that everyone will recognize their supernatural quality.
Love the World
Mark 12:31, "Love your neighbor as yourself." We desire to love those around us who do not yet know the joy of a relationship with Christ in very practical, concrete ways, because we have been loved so extravagantly by Him. The most loving thing we can do for someone is to introduce them to their Savior and help them grow in their relationship with Him. This love starts in our circle of relationships and extends to the ends of the earth, as we seek to, "Make disciples of all nations."
To do whatever it takes to win as many as possible to be fully devoted followers of Christ
We seek to let our light shine in the community through acts of love and service, doing good works which build good will, which opens the door to share the good news. We desire to adapt ourselves to our neighbors, relatives, co-workers, classmates, and friends in such a way that we earn their trust and the right to speak to them about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:19, 22b, "Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. ... I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some."
A person's salvation through Christ is the first step into a new life lived in relationship with Him. That new life must be nurtured and fed and strengthened by holy habits into spiritual maturity, characterized by balance in love for God, love for our family (starting with our nuclear family, and extending to the family of God), and love for the world around us who desperately need Christ's love.
