Paul & MaryAnn Slayton - Serving with  Africa Inland Mission (AIM, Intl)

About Our Mission

Africa Inland Mission (AIM)Africa Inland Mission (AIM) had its beginning in the work of Peter Cameron Scott (1867-1896), a Scottish-American missionary of the International Missionary Alliance who served two years in the Congo before he was sent to Scotland in 1892 because of a near-fatal illness. While recuperating, he developed his idea of establishing a network of mission stations which would stretch from the southeast coast of the continent to the interior's Lake Chad.

Our Current Involvement

We are teaching and developing courses.  Discipling is another important role, especially in how to feed on Bible truth.

We have been working toward turning the teaching over to locally trained pastor-teachers, preparing the curriculum for their usage in this mixed-language environment.

How You Can Pray for Us

  • Pray that we may interact well with the Bible school staff and new directorship
  • Pray that our staff will care for our students, many of whom are formally unschooled with little or no literacy skills.
  • Pray that we may effective develop the curriculum and courses that will speak to the people here.
  • Pray that the local pastor-teachers may be effective in taking and teaching the materials we are developing.  Many pastor-teachers fall back on just preaching instead of teaching.
