"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others."

1 Peter 4:10

There are numerous opportunities to serve the Lord through the ministries at FEC. You may have particular gifts to enhance a particular ministry. Throughout this brochure you’ll find exciting opportunities with a short description for each ministry. Prayerfully consider where you can be used most effectively in this local church body. Serving in one of these capacities is the best way to connect with others in the church.

See the following list of volunteer opportunities where you can begin serving the Faith Church family.

Caring & Sharing Committee

If you have empathy for others, this may be the team for you. Help coordinate family receptions after funerals or coordinate meals for families with illnesses.

 World Outreach Committee

A passion for seeing the gospel brought to people groups around the world is the prerequisite for this committee. This team communicates with our overseas and local missionaries, provides education for the church on the state of Christian missions, and determines the financial needs of missionaries that this local body can meet.

Time commitment – 3 hours/month

Outreach Ministry

Faith Church has a passion to reach beyond the four walls of the church. In fact as a measure of the success of our church we believe we have to be making an impact on our community. We want to do good deeds, to gain good will, to earn opportunities to share the good news. Our desire is to rub shoulders with those who are not yet followers of Christ. To accomplish this we encourage everyone to interact with co-workers, neighbors, classmates, and relatives who are not believers by sowing seeds of God’s love in these people’s lives. Our heart is also to help those who are oppressed, the fatherless, the widow, and the poor (Isaiah 1:17). We seek to help our city to prosper through acts of service and prayer (Jeremiah 29: 7). Throughout the year there will be opportunities to serve the homeless, feed the needy, mentor children, help single Mom’s with car maintenance, do home repair for the community’s needy, all in the name of Jesus.

Knit-Wits for Missions

The Knit-Wits for Missions is a support group for the church’s mission outreach around the world and locally. We are made up of men and women who knit and crochet for those in need. We have on-going projects including prayer shawls that provide comfort to the suffering, baby items that serve to support the ministry of Life Choices of Loveland, and baby blankets for the church families when they give birth. We also do various projects during the year that lend support to missionaries and short-term mission teams.

Youth Ministry

Teenagers develop a passion for following Jesus through this ministry. The senior high school youth meet on Wednesday nights and the middle school kids meet on Friday nights. Volunteers are always welcome to help out with the night’s activities, provide snacks, and/or special help for youth ministry fund-raisers.

Time commitment – 3 hours/week

Women’s Ministry

A passion for seeing other women grow in faith makes serving in this ministry fun. Help plan Bible studies, retreats, and other events for women. A new mentoring ministry is on its third year in partnering Godly women with younger women.

Bulletin & Faith Flyer Stuffers

Each week volunteers stuff the bulletin with inserts. Once a month volunteers collate the Faith Flyer newsletter.

Time commitment – Bulletin (1 hour/week), Faith Flyer (1 hour/month)

Choir and Worship Team

The 10:30 a.m. service is led in worship by a band of contemporary vocalists and musicians. Our choir serves the congregation during the 9:00 a.m. service with great hymns and anthems of the faith. Each group often needs musicians and vocalists.

 Time commitment – 6-10 hours/month

For both services a key component to worship is helping people feel welcome and comfortable. Our ushers make sure people have the bulletin, collect the offering, and warmly greet people as they enter the sanctuary.

 Time commitment – 2 hours/month

As worshippers enter the church, greeters welcome them with a handshake and smile. If you’re a warm, outgoing person this is a great way to serve.

 Time commitment – 30 minutes/month

Sound boards, microphones, cords, and amplifiers may confuse some, but if you like them there are always needs in providing technical support for services. Training is provided.

 Time commitment – 5-10 hours/month

Interfaith Hospitality Network

Every 12 weeks the church body hosts families for one week who find themselves to be temporarily homeless. A roof is provided over their head, as well as meals and friendship. There are several ways to serve including being an overnight host, cooking a meal, helping to set-up, or assisting in teardown.

Time commitment – 2 hours/quarter

Kitchen Helpers

Many groups within the church use the kitchens. Volunteers help launder the towels and dish cloths on a monthly rotation.

Time commitment – varies according to events

Lago Vista Mobile Home Park

Faith Church has purchased a mobile home in the Lago Vista Mobile Home Park to enable us to have a variety of ministries in that community. The after school "Panther Club" for Cottonwood Plains Elementary students who live in Lago Vista will be starting in January on Thursday afternoons. There are also plans being made for after school homework help, Bible studies, VBS, English language classes, and more.
